Hat Making 101

It’s hard to believe that we’re in the middle of February already. Weeks are just flying by and with each day we’re getting closer and closer to that big night. Well, that is still about two months away, but nonetheless, its approaching! We had a big workday this past Saturday and accomplished a lot. One of the great things about “The Music Man” is its costumes. This past Saturday most of the women from the cast got together to make hats; the motto from the weekend was “the bigger, the better.” I’ll have to post some pictures of the hats because our girls created some that would make Hollywood costumers jealous.  This is the first year where we are rehearsing in one place and performing in another. After of doing it one way for 16 years, this is definetely proving to be interesting. We have to get used to practicing on the gym floor because the stage we’re going to is bigger than the one we had performed on. Our work crew is also used to building right onto the stage however, this year they have to be a little bit more creative, and patient, when it comes to constructing the set. A new challenge is having the sets be moveable and easily accessible; but I have no doubt in my mind that they’ll get it done.

Well, that’s about all the updates I have for right now. Check back for pictures of the hats and costumes.
